Samsung launches new NF and SF Series laptops with ’shark’-like designs 01 September 2010 at 9:51 pm by admin

It’s that time of the year again! Yep, the time when most laptop makers start thinking about the holiday season and unleash a massive amount of systems. Samsung’s kicking off its announcements at IFA with the SF and NF Series, both of which have a brand new wave or fin-like designs — they were apparently codenamed “shark” within the company. Beginning with the netbooks, the NF series will hit in the coming weeks and will be available in two skus — the ivory, single-core Atom NF210 will be $379 and the silver NF310 will have a dual-core Atom processor for $399

+ Acer ‘ZGA’ Chrome OS netbook starts popping up in Google bug reports By admin 24 August 2010 at 1:53 pm and have No Comments

Some more interesting stuff on the Chrome OS hardware front has started to pop up courtesy of Google’s own Chromium OS bug reports. Multiple references have been made to a mysterious Acer ZGA machine, which we have on good authority is also referred to generically as Google’s “dogfood device” in bug reports — dogfood referring to the practice of using your own products before you unleash them on the world.

+ MSI launches Wind12 U230 ‘Light,’ shaves two inches and 30 clamshells from predecessor’s hide By admin 21 July 2010 at 6:38 am and have No Comments

Are MSI’s 12.1-inch netbooks a hair too large for you? Wonder of wonders, there’s a smaller version that’s practically exactly the same inside. Though the new MSI Wind12 U230 Light confusingly weighs just the same as its predecessor (3.3 pounds) and is still 1.22 inches thick, it’s got a smaller 11.6-inch matte LCD screen that makes it two inches shorter in either direction on a horizontal plane.

Another pretty little seashell has washed up on the Eee PC shore, and ASUS is making this one official — sort of. A listing for the 1005PX has appeared on the company’s site, but it’s sadly a broken link for the moment.
